I am in my fifth year of an MD-PhD program at Duke University Medical 
School, and I have had a long standing interest in political and policy 
issues affecting minorities, as well as a particular interest and 
expertise in issues involving medical science.  The recent moves to 
restrict entitlement programs esp. health care access to immigrants has 
especially concerned me.  I am the outgoing co-chair of the Asian Pacific 
American Medical Students Association committee on legislative affairs, 
and have been looking for some outlet to continue keeping in touch with 
the dialogue on current affairs.
